Making Old Porch Posts into Shelves...

BEFORE:

AFTER HONEY WAS DONE:

I GAVE IT A FRESH COAT OF PAINT:

Hey everyone,
I got to thinking...after the Christmas tree was put away, how wonderful a new set of shelves would be in its place! I looked around but didn't find anything to appealing. I almost ordered a set from Target's Shabby line...when low and behold, I had an idea! Now, my husband may tell you it wasn't to good of an idea, considering he would have to do most of the work! Turns out, he was very kind and up for the task. That is one good thing about being empty nesters, you have a lot more time for projects. Anyway, I had a couple of old porch posts plus a few of those old grape and vine cast iron brackets. I knew they would come in handy some day. I told him what I was wanting and TA DA..I think he did a wonderful job and they came out great! I cant wait to get them decorated! I think new "Grandkids" pictures in "bejeweled" frames would work just great!

I have so many decorative brackets and this post has now inspired me to get them out and start designing!

Oh, my! I love these, and have some side rails and possibly a couple of the angle pieces left...from a garage sale I visited years ago. How very clever of you both!
