For Cindy at "I Owe it All to Him"

Please join everyone for the Linking event at "I Owe it All to Him"!
Well, it is with hesitation that I am publishing this post... Cindy had mentioned she was having a linking event and asked me to join everyone, Of course, I said yes. Now, I hadnt given that answer to much thought. I try my best to be a woman of my word, so here I am posting at least something. I really do not have a certain place. The place where I love to read, is the comfy ole couch and I pray in my bedroom. Neither of which, would have made a very inspiring picture.

You know, my children are grown now. After raising 4 children, going to lots of PTA meetings, participating in nearly every sport known to mankind and seeing them through college (I have one left to get through college) you can find a quiet place to read or pray in my home anywhere these days. I think that is an inspirational statement in itself! Oh yes, I have grandkids, they come and go. But, after getting over "the empty nest" syndrome, I am starting to enjoy this "me" time. That is why I am loving every minute of sitting here, having a cup of coffee and typing this post!

About my picture, years ago, when my husband was a young lad, around 18 and going to college, he also had a job working at an assisted living retirement center. An elderly woman seem to take a liking to him and gave him a few things. The picture is one of those things. I have always loved her and she has hung in different rooms of our home for nearly 25 years. She is somewhat faded now, but her beauty still shines on. Well, I have enjoyed telling you my story, and cant wait to see all of your postings! Have a wonderful day!

Oh my gosh, Tish, this is so beautiful!!!! And I am so glad that you shared it with us here...it is so uplifting...that little girl's face is precious--and how kind of the woman to give it to your husband....
It only goes to show you that we never know how we will touch people in our lives...
I'm so glad you took some "me" time and shared it with everyone here...that was so generous of you and your beautiful spirit shines through it all.
Hugs and blessings,
Cindy

Hello Tish, Nice to meet you! I love your picture, and I can relate to the empty nest. After having raised 4 children it is really nice to have some "me" time. I have a comfortable chair that I sit in too, when I'm home but when I'm gone I dream about rocking on my back porch.
Hugs, Margaret

What a beautiful picture and story to go with it! It is so much fun seeing hearing about memories that inspire. I love your honesty about some rooms in your house! Trust me...we all have some. Homes are really to live in and it sounds like you are.

On your beautiful picture the child has a halo so I'm thinking maybe he's the Christ Child or maybe Saint John the Baptist. I have seen very old art where the baby Jesus is pictured having blond curly hair. The lady who gave it to your husband was certainly dear.

Nice to meet you! Thank you for sharing!

This is awesome, Tish. I love the old picture. I suppose it is a print of some painting. Right? Or is it a photo? It's one I'm not familiar with but it has such a freshness to it. So beautiful. I loved the story of how you acquired it, or rather your husband did.

What a beautiful photo! She or he, so pretty I can't tell. They have haunting look in their eye. Beautiful face and curls. Love the story of how your husband received it. Thanks for visiting my blog. I love yours too!

I love this picture! I ran into an original watercolor done of this and purchased it. It is one of my dearest treasures. I will have to post on it in the future. What a wonderful "blog world" you have here. *hugs*

My kids are out of the home (for the most part--I still have one that comes and goes. He finished college in December and has been doing military training. He is supposed to be doing some added schooling elsewhere so we may or may not have him back here). But I agree that any place in the home is good now for some devotional reading etc. I have linked up with the links on my nannykim blog and it is something that is inspirational to me.
